I am conducting research on job evaluation. By conducting a job evaluation survey, we can check whether the wages within the company are maintained at a fair level regardless of gender or employment type. Job evaluation is widely practiced in Europe, the United States, Canada, and other places, and it is a survey that quantifies the value of the jobs held by workers. First, we conduct a job analysis. By conducting a job analysis (interview survey), we independently create job evaluation criteria that reflect the characteristics of the jobs within the company (a scale or measurement to assess the value of the job) and carry out the job evaluation. The job evaluation criteria (measurement) are created by breaking down four items necessary for performing the job: "knowledge and skills," "responsibility" associated with the job, "burden" incurred while performing the job, and "working environment" of the job. This is an essential survey when constructing the recently discussed "job-based employment." By checking how much the internal wage levels differ by gender and employment management categories (such as full-time employees, part-time workers, temporary workers, and contract employees), and whether these differences are commensurate with the value of the jobs, we can confirm whether unconscious biases or other factors have infiltrated the internal wage amounts.
